Principal's Message

Dear Centerra Mirage Community,

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year at Centerra Mirage STEM Academy.  As I reflect on the past year, there are many things to be proud of and many accomplishments to celebrate.

As a result, we have been labeled as an “A” rated school by the Arizona Department of Education. Centerra has decreased our absentee rate, meaning we continue to see an increase in student attendance. Ensuring students attend school each day is critically important to increase their academic success. Our robotics teams won state titles and made their fourth consecutive appearance at the VEX IQ World Competition. The implementation of our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program continues to be successful. Staff members acknowledged students for being respectful, responsible, or solving problems. This, in turn, encouraged positive behavior and decreased office discipline referrals. These are just a few of the tremendous things that took place this past year. We could not have accomplished them without the support from each of you, our parents, students and community members. Thank you! I am also excited to share that Centerra Mirage STEM Academy continues to focus on becoming a front-runner in STEM education. This year, we plan to focus on digital citizenship with lessons being taught at each grade level to ensure that students understand what it means to be respectful, responsible, problem solvers in a digital world. Centerra will also focus on increasing the number of STEM related field trips and guest speakers that students can learn from. We will continue our commitment to exposing all students, kindergarten through 8th grade, to STEM curriculum. As a part of that commitment, we continue to be the only school in our district to offer STEM classes daily to all grade levels as a special area class. We believe that STEM education will increase our student’s ability to become thinkers, problem solvers, and communicators now and in the future!  In closing, I invite each of you to visit our campus, become involved in your student’s education, and witness the amazing things that are taking place on our campus. Please make note of some important upcoming dates listed below. Thank you again for your continued support. We look forward to partnering with you for another successful year at Centerra Mirage STEM Academy!  Respectfully, Casey Frank , Centerra Mirage STEM Academy Principal Dates to note: August 1st, 2019 - Meet the Teacher Night from 5:30-7:00 p.m. August 5th, 2019 - First Day of School.
